It’s rather luck that Zhi Ling stumbled into the IP profession. It’s a career that has satisfied her passion to live off the pen (or rather the keyboard nowadays), and allows her to meet the bright sparks who are driven to change the world with their ideas.
She has more than enough industry know-how to tackle the chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, but is always keen to learn something new.Away from the daily grind, Zhi Ling shows off her sporting prowess playing badminton or tennis. However she’s just as happy in the kitchen, watching art-house films or getting lost in a good book.
Zhi Ling brings to the table a raft of international experience. Not only a Registered Patent Attorney in both New Zealand and Australia, she’s familiar with the intricacies of Chinese patent law having practiced in a large international patent and trade mark firm based in China. She has also worked in Australia as a patent and trade mark attorney and Singapore as a patent attorney.
As is James & Wells style, Zhi Ling has her fair share of certificates; a PhD in bioanalytical chemistry from the University of Queensland, a Master of Industrial Property from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Bachelor of Science (biochemistry/chemistry) from the University of Western Australia. Phew.
