The best days in the office for Tim are those when he works alongside local businesses to build a brand ownership strategy.Like many kiwi blokes, he’s sports mad. When he gets the chance to step outside, he heads straight to the coast to unwind and fish.
Tim has worked with a number of industries, and has a particular interest in the food, beverage, horticulture and nutraceutical sectors. Managing trade mark portfolios, completing clearance investigations for new brands, devising filing strategies, establishing brand ownership and enforcing trade marks overseas are all part of Tim’s specialty.
Bringing to the table international experience from having worked as an attorney in Europe dealing with the European Community Trade Mark Office and the International Trade Mark system (Madrid), Tim is the ‘go to’ guy for international trade mark issues.
And having worked for many global companies, he has invaluable knowledge and experience which Kiwi companies can take advantage of.
Tim holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law degrees, is a Registered Patent Attorney, and a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. He also qualified as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney in Ireland.
Tim is on the SME working group for the Food Grocery Council, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA), a member of the New Zealand Law Society, and the International Trade Mark Association (INTA).
"Dunstan Nutrition Ltd has worked with Tim Walden over the past 4 months on aspects of branding strategies and trade marks. We have found Tim's advice and guidance invaluable. He has reinforced to us the value of protection of brands and trade marks and in so doing will have ensured the necessary commercial protection required to add value to the Company over time. Tim has always been very responsive and is a pleasure to deal with."
