Leading the charge in our Auckland Patents team, Jason is on a mission to help New Zealand businesses take their ideas and inventions to the world with his knack for high end IP strategies.Like your typical Kiwi bloke (excluding his fondness for waistcoats), Jason loves music and getting outdoors. Whether its jet skiing, fishing, golfing or hiking, you will find him a content man as long as he’s enjoying an active lifestyle.
With nineteen years of industry experience, Jason has been involved with an extensive field of technologies, including life sciences, software and mechanical specialties.
Jason was a Director - from 1 July 2010 to 25 October 2012 - of Freeload, a start up company manufacturing and marketing an innovative bike rack and attachment system it had developed, providing advice on IP matters. Jason was also a Director of Kiwijoe New Zealand Limited, an IP Holding company which owned the intellectual property behind the Freeload bike rack products. Kiwijoe’s IP portfolio was sold to Thule in December 2011.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Law. He studied chemistry and computer science as part of his science degree before switching to genetics, plant biotechnology and animal physiology.
Jason is also a Registered Patent Attorney and a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
