Barbara is a bit of a technical whiz around the office. Having studied a host of languages - German, Japanese, Spanish and Latin (not to mention various computer systems and languages) - she is the go-to expert when it comes to IP investigation.
Barbara’s edge is her ability to scope out the big picture. She’ll take a look at what your competitors are up to by researching their filings, and reporting on their potential future market direction.Alongside her rather impressive linguistic expertise, Barbara is also a qualified music teacher. When she’s not being creative casting or sculpting, she’s learning the ways of country life and is soon to be a dab-hand with wood work and chainsaws.
Barbara specialises in intellectual property intelligence and investigation. She has participated in the beta testing of international IP databases, and has access to a whole range of IP websites, both subscription and non-subscription.
With a background in commerce, Barbara has a practical take on trade marks and the fast evolving field of information technology.
Barbara is a member of the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG), the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP, UK) and is an Associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Patents Attorneys (NZIPA).
