At the helm of our Tauranga team, Andrew is a jack-of-all trades and master of them all. With too many years of intellectual property experience to mention, it’s fair to say he’s seen it all, having practiced in trade marks, copyright, design and patents.Not only is Andrew a national yacht racing rules judge, but get this; he qualified for the 1980 Olympic Games and has been chief selector for New Zealand’s gold-winning Olympic sail team. You could say he’s quite passionate about sailing.
Before coming on board as Manager of our Tauranga office, Andrew was a Partner of New Zealand’s largest IP firm, and had previously established his own practice. Andrew, has particular experience in international trade mark law, having been involved in numerous trade mark and design cases in both prosecution and litigation. It’s a common sight in our Attorney’s offices to see a number of qualifications hanging on their walls - Andrew is no exception. He holds a Bachelor of Law, is a Registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand, and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
Andrew is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA), is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, and the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).
