Katrina advises clients in a wide variety of intellectual property disputes, developing strategies to both help enforce their intellectual property rights when infringements arise and, where possible, to avoid disputes at the outset. She has over 10 years experience representing clients in litigation involving patent, trade mark, copyright and design infringement, misuse of confidential information and fair trading, privacy and advertising issues. Katrina also deals with patent and trade mark matters before the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and is an accomplished advocate for her clients in other methods of dispute resolution such as mediation and arbitration.
Katrina joined James & Wells in 2010, having previously worked for many years in the intellectual property team of one of Dublin’s leading commercial law firms. Katrina has also worked in several large commercial law firms in Auckland and Wellington.
Katrina has acted for local and multinational clients in many fields including the life sciences sector, media and advertising industries, and the food and drink sector.
Katrina is a member of the New Zealand Law Society and the Auckland Young Professionals Society.
