Tim is part of James & Wells' Trade Mark Team in Hamilton.
His practice covers a wide range of Intellectual Property areas
including trade marks, licensing and copyright.
Tim has particular experience in international trade mark law
including searching and the protection of trade marks in foreign
jurisdictions. He also has a strong interest in intellectual
property as it relates to the internet.

Tim commenced with James & Wells in Hamilton in 1998. Since
that time he has lived in Ireland where he worked for Ireland's
leading firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, FR Kelly & Co.
While in Ireland, Tim was registered as an Irish trade mark
attorney, following successful completion of the Irish professional
qualification. He also met the requirements for registration as a
European Trade Mark attorney.
Tim worked with a number of leading Irish and international
companies gaining first hand experience with European Community
Trade Mark law, the International Trade Mark System (Madrid) and
the laws of a number of other countries including the United
States. Since his return Tim spent two years in James & Wells'
Tauranga Office, before relocating to Hamilton.
Tim is a member of the New Zealand Law Society and the New
Zealand Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys. Tim is also a
member of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and is a
member of the Whois Sub-committee of the INTA Internet
Committee.
