James & Wells Intellectual Property

Kate's professional and personal journey hasn't been typical, but has certainly been enjoyable.

She's travelled from wanna-be nuclear physicist to building NZ's top Intellectual Property firm, James & Wells, as well as being recognised as one of the world's top IP strategists. Her career has been built around helping kiwi businesses capture their intangible assets whether inventions or brands.

Her personal journey has included gaining physics and chemistry degrees, 26 years of marriage, motherhood and life on a lifestyle block here in Hamilton. She is an enthusiastic cook (having published her cookbook Platter Chatter and featured on TVNZ programme MasterChef), a keen gardener and an amateur artist.
