Carrick is a partner based in our Auckland office specialising
in all aspects of trade mark law. With a background as an
accountant, Carrick has a special interest in the valuation of
intellectual property and taxation issues in general.

- Registered Patent Attorney (New Zealand)
Carrick joined James & Wells in August 2002, following
several years working in the UK. He has extensive experience
in filing and prosecuting New Zealand, Australian, UK, European
Community, and International (Madrid) Applications, and has
represented clients at UK trade mark hearings.
While in the UK Carrick worked with Rover Group Limited's trade
mark team, before moving on to David Keltie Associates (now
Keltie), a London firm of patent and trade mark agents. While at
Kelties he advised a variety of local and overseas clients on UK
and European Community trade mark law and practice.
Carrick is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent
Attorneys (NZIPA), and a member of the Intellectual Property
Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and the College of
Chartered Accountants. He is a student member of the Institute of
Trade Mark Agents (ITMA) and a member of the International Trade
Mark Association (INTA).
