Andrew is a lawyer and patent attorney based in our Tauranga
office. He practices all aspects of intellectual property law
having experience and expertise in trade marks, licensing,
copyright, designs and patents.

- Registered Patent Attorney (New Zealand and Australia)
- Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand
Andrew has particular experience in international trade mark
law, and has been involved in prosecution and litigation involving
trade marks and designs in a number of countries.
Andrew qualified as a lawyer in 1975, and within a few years
developed a specialisation in intellectual property. He
worked for, and was later a partner of, one of New Zealand's large
intellectual property firms in both Auckland and Wellington, before
forming his own firm in 1993. Andrew joined James & Wells
in 2003, and is the manager of the Tauranga office.
Andrew is currently a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of
Patent Attorneys, a member of the New Zealand Law Society, the
Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propiete Industrielle and
the Association of Australian Patent Attorneys. He is also a
member of the Licensing Executives Society of Australia and New
Zealand and the Intellectual Property Society.
